Yacht features ![]() Yacht Zuza Features Zuza is a 22m sailing research vessel, fully equipped for diving, sailing and operating remotely as a base for conducting scientific research. She was designed and built in 2000 in Cape Town, South Africa. Zuza has very comfortable accommodation for eight guests and a well equipped galley and saloon. She has a full compliment of communications equipment, diving facilities (including air compressor) and a 4.5m tender. Licenced Category 0 (Unrestricted Service) by the UK Marine & Coastguard Agency, Zuza is able to travel to any location globally. Her average cruising speed is 8 knots enabling her to cover large distances between locations with relative ease. ![]() With large storage capacity for fuel, water and ships stores, she can be self sufficient for long periods of time at sea. Built to sail anywhere around the globe, Zuza copes impressively with extreme weather conditions. As such she is very well suited to expedition/research work in addition to dive and sail charters. Zuza's overall capabilities were well reflected in the British Royal Geographical Society's (RGS) decision to select her as the offshore base for an international marine research project off the east coast of Africa in 2001. During the 'Shoals of Capricorn Project' Zuza's facilities, onboard space and reliability helped to facilitate ground-breaking research within the Mascarene Region of the SW Indian Ocean. |
